Conference objectives

Within manufacturing today, information is many times scattered amongst a wide range of systems, ranging from Excel spreadsheets, native manufacturing process management databases to high-end CAD and PLM systems. The wide variety of tools and applications do not speak the same language. When transferring from one application to another there is almost always a conversion involved where you not only lose time but also risk an adequate interpretation, you risk losing data and in the end you risk your product's quality.

  • There is a need of improving manufacturing engineering (process planning, simplified processes and more efficient information integration)

  • There is a need for a neutral, open meeting place in Europe where users, solution suppliers, academia and standards bodies can meet to exchange ideas and experiences

The conference will provide a neutral and open meeting place in Europe where users, academia and standards bodies can meet to exchange ideas and experiences. We will have the opportunity to listen to speakers from prominent organisations present on hot topics, moderated by an experienced moderator. We expect lively discussions! We will also have the opportunity of finding out the current status of vendor solutions in a small exhibition adjacent to the conference. How well do the solutions really meet our expectations?

This year's conference will also focus on the information exchange between engineering and production (manufacturing). Engineering needs information about the production capabilities as they are designing, and this is not often the case (or just not good enough). The information flow between these two domains needs to be simplified and quality needs to be increased.

The MDT Europe Conference will provide a neutral meeting place on a yearly basis in Europe, with leading technology and industry best practice. Participants join to exchange ideas, to learn and to facilitate their own decision making.
